Winning Works In The Home Of Cheddar

Stancold have recently won a local contract to build multiple cheese rooms for an existing customer, an award-winning family farm producing a variety of cheddar cheese in the heart of Somerset.

The project involves building a new extension to the existing facility consisting of 4 cheese room and a butter room storing dairy products on ambient temperature, and on coldroom temperatures of -5 to +5 degrees and 0 to -21 degrees, including racking.

Stancold will use 1817 m2 insulated hygienic wall panels and 1356m2 ceiling panels. Due to the high fat content and flammable nature of cheese and butter it’s prudent to build fire ratings into the building and therefore Stancold will fit in fire rated doors and enclosures for maximum protection.

Works are due to commence in September.
