Drawing on 75 years of experience in the UK cold chain industry, Stancold’s Clean Room Envelope Specialist Team have an extensive portfolio of temperature-controlled environments for pharmaceutical and medical applications.
The team have yet another successful contract under their belts, where they worked hard to provide a turnkey chiller package for a pathology laboratory as part of a two-storey extension within an Ipswich hospital.
Thanks to our business’ respected and established status as a cold storage contractor, we were invited to tender by the appointed main contractor to assume responsibility for the insulated panel system, doors, flooring, lighting, refrigeration and commissioning of the room. As with any CREST tender, the team worked meticulously to ensure that they conformed to the specification.
It was our competitive pricing and ability to meet the required timescales that enabled us to successfully secure these works. Stancold CREST’s critical environments expert, Mark Kendrick, commented: “Our knowledge and experience in cold storage construction is embedded into the business’ history and we were pleased to assist in getting these works completed within a quick turnaround.”
Boasting superior insulating properties and a hygienic panel finish, Kingspan’s QuadCore system was selected to build the room and integrated with an accompanying insulated sliding chiller door. The team also co-ordinated the installation and commissioning of the refrigeration equipment, ensuring that the temperature met the specification of 5°C +/- 2°C.
This was another successful project for our team, and we look forward to our next one in the industry!
