I am new to the industry. Everything is fresh and exciting. I am honestly enjoying learning how it all works and meeting new people along the way.

I’ve got a diploma in dance and used to compete regularly. I’m not much of a professional dancer anymore, but it’s very hard to get me off the dancefloor at the weekends!

This is what I like about my role:
I thoroughly enjoy the pacing of the role. Whilst sometimes full-on, it feels as though the work has meaning and leaves an impact on the overall status of the project. The role is also varied and will expose you to all areas of the business, which in turn creates amazing learning opportunities and faster rates of professional growth.

In contrast to the somewhat desk-bound nature of my profession, I actually really enjoy travelling and have recently started hiking! I’d like to plan a cross-country hike in the future, when the UK weather permits of course!

I’m very hands-on and actually enjoy solving everyday construction problems. I’ve been tempted to go into Project Management many times, but… Nothing feels as rewarding as being on-site and watching drawings turn into reality. I love working with people. The more, the merrier!
Random fact about me:
We used to scribble our signatures on installed cleanroom panels – for later validation. I’ve been doing this for so long that I lost count of how often I saw my name a decade later. Most recently, I found one from my teenage years, my first job ever. I dare not say how far back the date reached.

I ensure that CREST’s contracts run as smoothly as possible, working closely with the client/main contractor to meet their exact specification and timescales. I work hard to make sure deliveries of materials, installation and all aspects of a project meet our high quality standards.

I will identify and resolve any potential issues before they occur, with the ultimate goal of delivering a project that completely satisfies our client. I keep a close eye on the quality of our installation to ensure that we deliver a seamless project handover.
This is what I enjoy about my role:
I find the projects that we work on very interesting as I’ve not worked in this sector before. I’m a bit of a construction geek so I really enjoy learning about new materials and construction methods. Our work within vaccine research and development is a particular example of something that ‘blows my mind’.

I enjoy riding my motorcycle, when the weather allows, I also going climbing as often as possible and have previously worked on the houses of members of the royal family – including Prince Charles and Princess Anne.

I assess the risk and safe working practices used on site by our operatives to ensure the safest working environment for all of our on-site staff. As for the quality aspect of my role, I ensure we comply with current standards, maintain all of our accreditations and check work on site is done to a correct standard. I’m also responsible for our environmental and sustainability credentials, allowing us to remain carbon neutral and make continual improvements to reduce our carbon footprint.

Having worked for years in arts & entertainment, where there always was a lot of ready-made news, I find working for a construction company refreshing and creative – coming up with ideas and learning new things in the process is what drives me.
Random fact about me:
Just one? I save approximately 20 days a year worth of hours commuting by pushbike, rather than using a bus. Time saved is spent on playing the guitar, some video games and a lot of random activities that I couldn’t be doing while sitting on the bus or in the car!
