With the first half of the year behind us, we’re taking a moment to look back at CREST’s achievements in Q2.

To begin, we welcomed back Kate Virtue, our Installation Manager, from Maternity leave!

Alongside our day-to-day endeavors, the team won a variety of contracts within the pharmaceutical industry, which will see them travel to Durham, Trowbridge and Macclesfield over the next few months.

Two of our dedicated site installers, Liam Johnson and Tom Edmonds, completed their NVQs in Specialist Installation Occupations (Construction).

Lastly, we celebrated numerous work anniversaries this quarter. From Steve Gunning and Liam Johnson’s fourth year to Kieran Croker’s sixth year.

We can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for CREST, keep up the good work team!

As we start a new quarter of the year, let’s take some time to reflect on CREST’s successful 2025 so far.

To begin, we welcomed four new members to the team across a variety of divisions: Katherine Witts as our Marketing Support Executive, Sarah-Elliott Moore as our Estimator, Ciara Chapman as Project Administrator, and Julian Anderson as CREST’s Special Projects Director.

Secondly, we joined the Cold Chain Federation, the UK’s voice for the temperature-controlled logistics industry. Read more about our membership here!

Alongside our day-to-day endeavors, the team won a variety of contracts that will see them travel to Hemel Hempstead, Barnstaple, and Southampton over the next few months.

Lastly, we celebrated numerous work anniversaries this quarter. Alex Vittle, our HSEQ manager, and Mike Andrews, our Head of Finance, celebrated their first anniversary. Meanwhile, Ben Galey, our Project Co-ordinator, celebrated his fourth year at CREST.

The team are now in full gear for the second quarter of the year with projects, events, and more lined up – we couldn’t be more proud of their hard work so far!

CREST is pleased to announce its membership with the Cold Chain Federation, the UK’s voice for the temperature-controlled logistics industry.

Formed in 2019, but with a rich history of over 100 years, the CCF is known for its continuous support to hundreds upon hundreds of cold chain professionals.

Although Stancold, as a wider organisation, have been a part of CCF for over a decade CREST decided to make the leap into the membership to focus on our pharma and medical niche.

CCF offers a range of events across the year with the promise of helping distributors and innovators connect! Not only that, but as part of the membership CREST will be able to take part in exciting projects across the year!

As we approach a wider, global conversation on sustainability and Net Zero, CCF is committed to making the knowledge and guidance readily available to all.

CREST is excited to be working with CCF in helping bring the cold chain voice to light across the pharma and medical industries.

Stancold’s CREST starts the year off strong with numerous projects secured over the past months.

With a range of projects lined up, from cleanroom refurbs and expansions to high–spec coldstores, the team have been busy building relationships across the industry.

“The team have been hard at work in securing the recent projects with existing and new clients.” Mark Kendrick, CREST’s Business Development Director states.

“Interestingly, the clients are spread out across different industries, such as animal and plant research, specialist engineering product manufacture, and medical solutions suppliers!”

He continues: “As we begin the planning and design stages, everyone is focused on bringing the client’s needs into reality and ensuring the operations run smoothly.”

We’re excited to see how the projects develop and look forward to what the rest of the year have in store for CREST, and Stancold more broadly.

We are thrilled to have handed over an exciting project for an air freight client based in London.

Lee Duffield, CREST Construction Director, comments: “It’s been wonderful working with [the client] again, on their second warehouse.”

“The team have been incredibly flexible in their working conditions, we couldn’t be more proud.”

As part of this project with high-value goods, we were responsible for the design and build of a turnkey chiller and freezer, along with a number of ambient rooms.

Thanks to the team’s flexibility to complete a site survey within four days of an initial enquiry, we are happy to share just six weeks later that the team have made their way to London to begin installation!

The team have given us a live update to say the concrete floor installation, as part of a turnkey freezer and chiller, is currently underway.

The excitement doesn’t stop there as the freight handling facility’s freezer requires a bespoke floor design, which will allow for the storage of heavy-duty cargo pallets with excessive weight requirements.
