As a busy Summer leads into a busier Autumn, we’re pleased to be working locally this September, undertaking the construction of a warehouse firewall in Bristol.
Our client, an industrial boiler work specialist, has recently made operational changes to their manufacturing process, meaning that they have surplus space within their existing factory. Therefore, dividing the area and letting out to a new tenant was a viable proposal.
To get a thorough understanding of the planned works, Stancold’s industrial partitions specialist, Shaun Jones, met with the client to investigate conditions on-site and take measurements. Using his expert knowledge and experience of fire-rated installations, Shaun was able to determine that the existing steelwork within the building had already been treated with intumescent paint and would therefore not require any fire boarding within the firewall installation.
Once the building details were confirmed by the client, Shaun completed a second site survey to account for the new findings. The discovery ensured that our works remained within our client’s tight budget and provide a quotation that was as accurate as possible. He was then also able to efficiently provide them with technical data and drawings for submittal to Building Control, a key phase within the planning process of this type of work.
Our LPS 1500 approved installation team will be erecting the 2-hour fire-rated partition wall on-site, as per the client’s specification, using Eurobond Firemaster panels of 100mm thickness, complete with firestopping between the junction of the composite panels and steelwork. The site will remain live throughout the duration of our work, where our team will install from the empty side of the building to reduce disruption to our client’s day-to-day operations.
