Thanks to a reliable track record within the food & drink industry, Stancold pride ourselves in retaining a first-class reputation when it comes to food-safe and temperature-controlled fit-outs. The team’s next project has come to fruition in this way, where preparations are in full swing as part of the internal fit-out within a brand-new abattoir in Sheffield.
The end user, an established wholesale meat producer of over 40 years, needed a new facility to expand their production capabilities and turned to the building contractor that they had trusted to construct their existing factory over 15 years earlier.
Stancold’s food projects expert, Sam Taylor, was able to demonstrate our business’ honest and trustworthy approach right from the earliest negotiation stages, where our flexibility and proven capability to work in the industry solidified our position to successfully secure this contract.
In doing so, Stancold’s dedicated food projects team will undertake responsibility for all food-safe partitioning and doors, amounting to over 5,000m² of insulated panels and nearly 20 doors of varying specifications. Kingspan’s Quadcore panel system, complete with food-safe laminate finish, is to be utilised throughout the facility, where bespoke details have been designed within the construction of ceilings and door installations to accommodate meat hanging rails.
As part of the wider scope of works, liaising with other contractors due on site will be paramount to ensure that the programme is coordinated efficiently and remains on schedule.
We look forward to reporting back on this project once it’s underway.
