As contractors in the food & drink industry for over 70 years, we have established firm relationships with local clients, who have entrusted us to assist them through a range of changes over time. In doing so, we’ve seen our clients move from strength to strength within the sector.
Our ongoing work with a local building contractor and end user, a Somerset-based cheesemaker, continues following the Christmas break as our team resume the construction of an extension to a cold storage facility and marshalling area, connecting it to the existing process areas.
As the facility is required for cheese storage, fire-rated insulated panels are being used to construct the frame of the store. The Eurobond Mineral Fibre composite system is best suited for this application, with panel thicknesses of 100mm and 150mm utilised here. A range of single and double chiller doors, as well as glazed vision panels, also form part of this build.
The team have also now completed several intricate bulkhead details, which required precise cutting of the hygienic panels to adapt to the building’s existing frame and internal height changes.
Stancold’s Senior Contracts Manager, Sam Glover, has been overseeing the project, overcoming ongoing design developments while on site and working efficiently to action the changes.
We’re looking forward to reporting back on the completed build.
