Our Food Projects Team’s unmatched level of expertise in the dairy industry is to be demonstrated once again as they undertake renovation works for a Cumbria-based creamery. We are delighted to be working with a new client, who placed their confidence in us after hearing of our successes within the industry. They were previously let down by their main contractor, so made the decision to come directly to a trusted specialist.
Our client’s creamery produces dairy products on behalf of a multi award-winning national cheese company, as a result of growing demand for their products, a facility upgrade was required to increase production capacity. Our team mobilised quickly, supplying a quote to the client based on their initial design before our Senior Contracts Manager, Sam Glover, completed a comprehensive site survey. Sam’s vast experience in the industry allowed him to identify key areas that needed to be amended within the facility’s design, before our installation team were given the green light.
Our team worked closely with the client throughout the planning process to create a programme of works that minimises disruption to their business operations. The first phase of the renovation will involve the removal and demolition of outdated sections of the facility. As part of our efforts to ensure that our client’s day-to-day operations are not hindered, a temporary wall will be installed to allow for the removal of an existing chiller.
Stancold’s versatile service offering meant that we were able offer both the completion of groundworks and the coordination of kerbing for our client, alongside our industry-leading food-safe fit-out. One hour fire-rated partitions, constructed from the Eurobond Firemaster system, and accompanying fire-rated doors will also be installed to provide the necessary fire protection in both block forming and control rooms. The highly effective Kingspan QuadCore insulated panel system will be used to form the large majority of the facility, including the new chiller.
We are now well into our first month of a four-month total construction period. The team will be completing the removal phase before returning back to the site in the following months to renovate and revitalise the facility. We are really looking forward to seeing how this project progresses and showing you the finished product once it’s completed.
