While most of the Stancold team will usually spend a Bank Holiday long weekend with family and friends or taking a short break away from home, this May Day Bank Holiday proved a little different for six of our office-based team.
This year’s Simplyhealth Great Bristol 10K took place on Sunday 5th May, where before Christmas, Andy, Donna, Mark, Stacy, Paul & Sarah decided to take the plunge and sign up as part of the ENGIE Business Challenge. The newly formed team were a mixed bag in terms of race experience, with some running marathons and triathlons previously and others making this their first ever race.
A fantastic effort was put in by the team during training, and this really came to light on race day with several minutes knocked off training PBs and an overall mixed team finish of 7th within the small business category.
Based on the post-race buzz over a well-deserved pint and a burger, this most certainly won’t be the last race for Team Stancold so watch this space… onto the next one!
For a further challenge, some of the same team will be taking part in the MacMillan Wye Valley Walk – a 26-mile hike from Chepstow to Monmouth – on 7th September and we would really appreciate it if you could make a small donation to this worthwhile cause. Our JustGiving page is here.
