Stancold Staff Volunteer at Local Food Bank

Every year Stancold donate their Christmas Card Budget to charity and unlike previous years, we wanted to give our time and money to a cause a little bit closer to home.

The team felt very lucky to have a week off over Christmas and to be looking forward to turkey with all the trimmings, especially when many of the neighbourhoods around our office are relying on foodbanks to take care of their families.

On the Thursday before Christmas, members of the team and some of our colleagues from Gilcrest Manufacturing spent the morning helping out the team at Bristol North West Foodbank, located in Lawrence Weston, a five-minute drive from the office.

Every week a team of volunteers spend their mornings sorting through food donations that come not only from individuals but also businesses. Everything has to be sorted and then packed according to the family’s needs.

At Christmas they organise festive hampers and during the holidays packed lunches for children who usually get meals at school.

It was uplifting to spend time with the team and understand more about what they do. Supporting our local community has always been important to Stancold, so we were very pleased to donate some of our time as well as our Christmas Card Budget.
