With Bristol as our home for over 75 years, Stancold continues to maintain its commitment to supporting the local community and the important causes that it encompasses. During 2021, we sponsored local Team GB athletes to compete internationally in their sport, supported our staff in their own fundraising challenges and retained our voluntary positions at the Bristol North West Food Bank, based in Avonmouth.
December was our third Christmas period helping the fantastic team at the Food Bank, where we joined other committed volunteers from Bristol businesses along with local residents. We spent time packing festive hampers and distributing them to local families and individuals facing crisis this Winter, to make sure that everyone was able to enjoy festive produce, treats and gifts.
Given the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on UK society, The Trussell Trust‘s work to support households experiencing food poverty continues to play a pivotal role. Their report on the impact of COVID-19 and lockdowns on the role of Food Banks can be accessed here.
Our colleagues’ enthusiasm to take part in initiatives such as this, both within our local community and their own at home, is something to be commended and we are looking forward to announcing further plans to strengthen this within our company standing in the coming months.
