Stancold CREST Near Completion of Automotive Carbon Fibre Storage Freezer Construction

Our very busy Clean Room Envelope Specialist Team are pleased to share that their latest project in Northamptonshire is reaching a conclusion, following the turnkey construction of a carbon fibre storage freezer for a leading automotive racing manufacturer.

Stancold’s specialist team are working with an existing client, a main contractor with extensive experience in the automotive sector, where we are responsible for the room construction that includes a concrete floor, doors, refrigeration and lighting.

Working with the project’s architect in the early stages to develop the package, our prior experience of successful cleanroom and cold room construction with the main contractor then allowed us to secure the contract. We worked closely together during design meetings to accommodate the end user’s requirements.

Thanks to its superior insulating properties, Kingspan’s QuadCore panel system was selected for the room envelope and refrigeration specified to meet the -18⁰c temperature requirement of the carbon fibre product.

Where the room is constructed up to the underside of steel beams of the warehouse’s mezzanine floor, considerations were made between our construction and refrigeration teams to accommodate intricacies in the installation process.

As we head towards the latter stages of the project, the team have made fantastic progress so far to co-ordinate all elements of the package.
