What is an ISO 7 Classification Cleanroom?

ISO 7 cleanrooms are used in a variety of industries, from pharmaceutical laboratories to testing booths and specialist manufacturing facilities. An ISO 7 cleanroom is designed to prevent whatever process happening inside from being contaminated, whether that’s production or handling of products.

Stancold’s Clean Room Envelope Specialist Team has an unrivalled understanding of the specification and installation of environments that meet all ISO standards and EU GMP classifications. Therefore, we are well-placed to assist with the technical design and architectural build of your ISO 7 cleanroom to get you up and running as soon as possible.

To achieve ISO 7 requirements, Stancold would recommend utilising a semi-flush cleanroom system, where the team can expertly integrate doors, vision panels and ancillaries that will enable you to make efficient use of your cleanroom.

The minimum requirements for ISO 7 cleanroom classification include:

  • 60 to 90 air changes per hour
  • 352,000 PPC (particles per cubic meter) at 0.5μm
  • Required testing (ISO 14644-2) every six months
  • HEPA filters (99.997% efficient @ 0.3 microns)
  • A separate room for gowning

ISO 7 cleanrooms are EU GMP Grade C, which means they are used for the production processing, specialist component handling and for preparation of solutions that need to be filtered.
