What is an ISO 7 Classification Cleanroom?

ISO 7 cleanrooms are used in a variety of industries, from pharmaceutical contract packaging to automotive manufacturing and medical device production. An ISO 7 cleanroom is designed to prevent the internal process from being contaminated, whether that’s production or handling of products.

CREST has an unrivalled understanding of the turnkey design and build of ISO standard 6-9 and clean-not-classified controlled environments so we are well-placed to assist with the technical design, build and validation of your ISO 7 cleanroom to get you up and running as soon as possible.

To achieve ISO 7 requirements, CREST would work closely with you to understand the proposed operational workflow and design consideration of the cleanroom and offer a complete solution to suit.

The minimum requirements for ISO 7 cleanroom classification include:

  • 60 to 90 air changes per hour
  • 352,000 PPC (particles per cubic meter) at 0.5μm
  • Required testing (ISO 14644-2) every six months
  • HEPA filters (99.997% efficient @ 0.3 microns)
  • A separate room for gowning

An ISO 7 cleanroom is often used for production processing, specialist component handling and for preparation of solutions that need to be filtered.
