Phase 1 Begins on an Industrial Partitioning Contract in Derby

As Stancold’s industrial partitions team continues to deliver excellence in contributing to warehouse projects across the UK, the main contractor approached us to build enclosures for the office spaces within their two new builds in the East Midlands.

“We are constructing two mezzanine-type structures that will form an undercroft for a future loading bay”, says Shaun Jones, our industrial partitions expert. “The two warehouses total 197,000 ft² space and are the first phase of a bigger project. Given our excellent history with the client, we’re already negotiating our possible involvement in phase two of the development.” This contract marks the twelfth site we’ve worked for them on in 2022.

We had been working closely with their design team from the early stages to align all the required steelworks to our requirements. “Being involved from the beginning allows for greater flexibility on both sides. We can suggest an ideal design for our scope of work and then iron out the details, giving plenty of time to make changes,” Shaun continues, suggesting that early involvement in a new build usually means significant savings for our clients. “We can not only secure better material prices but also help to optimise all the internals, like support columns, to comply with LPCB certification. It can be costly to try to treat it as an afterthought.”
