The Stancold firewall team have, fortunately, been kept very busy across the country throughout the last quarter, working safely and efficiently on sites according to Government safety advice and our clients’ instruction.
One project that is coming to the final stages is based in Ruislip, where we have been working with industrial space specialist, Magrock Construction, to complete all passive fire protection works, including the compartment walls and office firewalls, for three new warehouse units.
Stancold’s industrial partitions specialist, Shaun Jones, has built a firm relationship with the team at Magrock during our first project working together. Site surveys and design meetings were swiftly completed, in order to understand the required specification and determine appropriate measures for site access.
Where the build is taking place on an existing industrial site, access for plant and material deliveries was a key constraint for the project management team, so special attention was paid to communicating with suppliers to ensure there was little disruption for the site team.
Now on site and in the final weeks of the project, the team have utilised a robust Mineral Fibre composite partitioning system, installing over 2000m² of 150mm thick panels across the three units, in order to achieve a one-hour fire-rating. Firestopping is still required to seal openings, while single door openings have been constructed and neatly capped.
We’re looking forward to showing the final installation soon.
