It’s safe to say that 2020 has been a challenging year for us all so far, where we’ve had to majorly adapt our lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, it’s hard to escape the repercussions this has presented to many businesses across the UK, but during these unprecedented times, Stancold have been in an extremely fortunate position to remain strong within the industry.
As we make sense of the ‘new normal’ in and around the office but remain busy across the company, this has opened up the opportunity for a new role within the cleanroom team. In order to confidently facilitate the intricate scope of works that make up specialist environments such as cleanrooms and laboratories, we’re pleased to welcome Ben Dawkins to the team as Commercial Assistant to provide valuable support within this area.
Already settled in, Ben works closely with our cleanroom specialist, Mark Kendrick, adapting design drawings and specifications to provide accurate quotations for new enquiries as well as supporting the project management team with variations and financial applications where required.
Ben has spent the last two years working in estimating roles within construction, but before this, spent a year travelling and living on the east coast of Australia. When asked why the role at Stancold stood out to him, he explains that he finds the concept of our work particularly interesting and is enjoying finding out more about how the specialist environments we construct are pivotal within the pharmaceutical and high-end manufacturing industries.
Once the working day is done, Ben heads home to Wales where he spends his spare time working on and rebuilding classic cars and enjoying a pint of Carling down the local.
We’re really pleased with Ben’s smooth transition into the team, particularly where additional safety measures and precautions are currently in place.
