New and developing trends within the food & drink industry have challenged our team to adapt their skills to work within new applications. We’re delighted to be starting a unique project in London this week, where we are completing an internal fit-out at an indoor vertical farming site.
Our client, a well-established project management company, approached us following a series of successful projects in the past. This has provided us with a fantastic opportunity to consolidate our status as their go-to specialist contractor within the industry.
The food-safe fit-out will be constructed using Kingspan’s QuadCore composite panel system. A variety of panel thicknesses will be utilised in order to achieve an optimal environment for farming. This includes many areas from packaging workstations to a wash room and storage area. Multiple door types including both rapid-rise and personnel are also being installed as part of our package – these will provide the necessary accessibility for workers and equipment across the site.
From the outset, our team have been coordinating with the project’s fire safety contractor and supplier. This is to ensure that the materials and installation methods users can acquire a 60-minute fire-rating throughout the necessary sections of the build. As a Mineral Fibre system has not been selected, it is imperative that the PIR panels are installed with necessary firestopping and additional extras to ensure the desired fire-rating is achieved.
Our Divisional Development Manager, Patrick Ball, is always available to talk through your project plans within the food & drink industry. He looks forward to hearing from you on 07768 670 150 or pball@stancold.co.uk.
We can’t wait to report on this project as it progresses.
