Stancold have vast experience in working in data centre environments, providing fire-rated composite solutions to ensure that the most critical data and computer storage systems are always protected. This month, the team are heading to London to install a key component in a data centre, within a high-security environment.
Approached by an interior fit-out consultancy in the capital, Stancold began discussions over a year ago to develop the concept and design of a pass-through hatch within their client’s data centre. This specialist hatch will allow servers and other highly sensitive items to be delivered without unauthorised personnel required to enter the building, allowing high security to be maintained at all times.
The design was produced and developed from scratch by Stancold’s specialist firewall team, incorporating bespoke measurements and intricate details, which included discussions with the fit-out consultants and end user along the way. The security hatch itself has been fabricated to suit the requirements on site and will be fitted with an interlock door system to further increase the level of security. The installation also involves two custom-made conveyor tables, matched directly to the height of the hatch’s opening.
