Industrial Partitioning for Scottish Offshore Renewable Energy Development

Stancold’s expert industrial partitioning team will be working with a new client this month to undertake divisional fire-rated partitioning works on an exciting new offshore renewable energy development in Dundee.

Industrial partitioning specialist, Shaun Jones, has been involved in this project from the early planning stages, negotiating the appropriate design and installation technique with the appointed turnkey contractor to ensure that the required fire protection regulations are met, while still maintaining cost efficiency.

The three new-build wind generation facilities built on the existing National Grid require one dividing wall in each unit, where fire-rated panels are to be installed horizontally to meet the architectural specification.

A 60-minute fire protection must be achieved across the project, so the panel system of choice had to be Eurobond’s Firemaster solution. When combined with Stancold’s LPCB approved construction method that includes all essential firestopping and deflection head details, this will result in a fully certified fire-resisting compartmentation wall for each unit.

Stancold are proud to play a part in this new venture for Scottish sustainable energy and look forward to reporting back on this project’s progress.
