Doughnut Manufacturing Expansion in London

A new year brings new projects for the installations team as they head to the capital to undertake another food facility expansion project.

Having installed products on site previously, Stancold are already familiar with the end user, a doughnut manufacturer, and the site in London, but will be collaborating with a specialist leisure industry fit-out contractor on this occasion to complete the works. Due to ongoing business growth, the end user is expanding to diversify their product range and introducing a new vegan menu into their stores.

We understand the importance of separating manufacturing processes in order to cater for different dietary requirements. The importance in ensuring particular ingredients, including nuts, soy and animal products, are not involved in any cross-contact with other components in the process is second to none. Installing a Stancold food-safe facility achieves a hygienic, cleanable environment suitable for managing specialist food manufacturing operations.

Stancold will construct a number of storage facilities in the unit next door to the client’s existing factory, accompanied by a washroom under a mezzanine floor within the new production area.

The team will install Kingspan QuadCore panels of 100mm thickness to form the expansion facilities, as well as the integration of specialist double hinged personnel doors at the client’s request. Sourced from Germany, Stancold’s project co-ordination team have been liaising with the manufacturer to schedule the delivery of the doors. Working with the customers’ requirements and their supply partners is key in being able to create bespoke solutions.

Stancold will also be responsible for the installation of Altro flooring, a hard-wearing vinyl covering that reduces the risk of slips and can be maintained easily. During this time, they will be working around other trades on site, including electricians, to ensure that the project is completed in a timely manner.
