A strong focus of our work within the food & drink industry is to support local businesses across the South West, where we regularly work with clients that require anything from facility upgrades to larger production extensions and hygienic fit-outs.
We’re also proud to be a member of Taste of the West, the largest independent regional food group in the UK that champions all that the South West has to offer the industry, from food & drink producers to restaurants and farm shops.
With this in mind, we’re pleased to be assisting one of our core local clients this month, an established organic fruit & vegetable supplier, that we have worked with for many years. Where their business has grown during this time, their operational capacity has needed to expand, so Stancold have been on hand throughout to work on projects that include an extension to the dispatch area, office facilities and additional chilled storage.
As part of their expanding wholesale operations, the client has recently acquired a large building near their existing site in Devon and require the installation of two food-safe chillers, meeting 2°c and 8°c respectively, to span the width of the premises.
Stancold’s food & drink specialist, Sam Taylor, has worked closely with the client since the planning stages and was able to value-engineer a solution that could accommodate their budget, which included reducing the required panel thickness to make savings.
The build itself will include the installation of 1120m² of Kingspan Quadcore food-safe insulated panelling along with a rapid rise door, vision panels and strip curtains to meet all operational requirements. Our team will work closely with the client’s refrigeration contractor to develop a programme of works that ensures each element is completed to the required timescale.
