We’re pleased to report that Stancold’s Clean Room Envelope Specialist Team (CREST) are nearing completion on their next project, the fit-out of a large new pharmaceutical cleanroom with accompanying firewalls.
The team have been working with offsite construction specialist and the project’s principal contractor, Merit Holdings, as part of the design and build of a new Decontamination Super Centre in Greater London. This facility will consolidate healthcare services including surgical instrument sterilisation and medical device decontamination.
Stancold’s colleagues have played an integral role within the specification, design and build of a vast ISO 8 cleanroom within the centre, including accompanying decontamination rooms, gowning areas and unloading zones.
Where the design and negotiation stages were under way during the height of the UK’s first COVID-19 lockdown, Stancold remained pro-active in undertaking virtual meetings, both internally and with the contractor, to advise on suitable systems and products as the layout’s scope evolved. This was particularly important where the firewalls were concerned and once restrictions allowed, a site survey confirmed some of the more intricate elements to the works and determined good access in and around the facility.
The envelope build incorporates over 1700m² of panels, which includes a combination of Kingspan’s Versatile cleanroom system and Eurobond’s Firemaster composite system to achieve the 60-minute fire-rating within the perimeter firewalls. Our specialist team have also covered fire-rated personnel doors, rapid rise doors, vision panels and breakout panels within our package.
Once again, our unrivalled ability to seamlessly colour match different panel systems to suit such a bespoke specification enabled Stancold to be the only contractor for this project and we look forward to seeing the finished works.
