The Trussell Trust‘s 428-strong national food bank network is a lifeline for those in need throughout the year, and Christmas time should be no exception. While it’s a joyful and happy time for many, some find the festivities more of a challenge, where the financial burden and sense of loneliness can really come to a head. No-one should be left hungry, and everyone should be able to enjoy a festive treat or two.
This is why Stancold were so keen to once again take part in the annual Christmas hamper event at Clevedon Food Bank, forming part of the dedicated voluntary team packing and transporting 300 packages to local individuals and families that need additional support during this time.
The sheer volume of food donations received from nearby supermarkets, donation points and schools was completely overwhelming, allowing us to fill every hamper to the brim with fantastic goodies! Packages included the likes of tinned goods, Christmas puddings, festive chocolates, savoury snacks and small gifts to make the season a special one for recipients.
At Stancold, we feel it’s so important to we do all we can to help others by supporting great local and national causes and it’s something we look forward to continuing into the new decade.
Thanks to Clevedon Food Bank and its volunteers for all the hard work they do!
