Chocolate Manufacturer’s Hygienic Extension Fit-Out

Planning is now underway for Stancold’s next project within the food industry, as we head to St Ives to assist an award-winning manufacturer of chocolate products with the extension of their production space, to increase capacity and add new process lines.

Following Stancold’s previously successful hygienic panelling works on site, we were named as a preferred contractor for this project, and are collaborating with the appointed main contractor to provide a full food-safe fit-out that complies with the high standards that this industry requires.

Our existing strong relationship with the end user allowed Stancold’s food & drink specialist, Sam Taylor, and experienced project manager, Sam Glover, to provide impartial advice and guidance on the most suitable panel thicknesses that also fell in line with their budgetary requirements.

The project utilises the Kingspan Quadcore panel system of 80mm thickness, where over 1100m² will be used to line the new space. Within the upstairs mezzanine areas, the team will integrate several hinged personnel doors as well as single vision panels to complete the fit-out.

Where the site will remain live throughout the works and areas are required to be sectioned off, installation will take place across three phases; the first on the lower level of the warehouse, with work on the upper mezzanine to be conducted during latter visits. The team will be working with and around other contractors, from steelwork to resin flooring, so maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and workmanship is key.

We’re looking forward to getting started on the first phase next month, with further visits planned for May and June.
