Two-Hour Divisional Firewalls for Warehouse

Jewson

Background

Jewson, the well-known builders merchant, contacted Stancold’s Industrial Partitioning team to discuss fire-rated partitioning for a warehouse previously operating as a DIY store.

Process

The project required two FR120 divisional firewalls, each 70m long and 8.5m high, to create three separate units for different tenants.

Logistics posed as a potential challenge for us as the project was based in Scotland.

Drawing on our expertise, we advised Jewson on composite wall panels as an alternative to traditional blockwork and stud partitioning. This solution offered better value per square metre, faster installation, a cleaner build process and a more visually appealing finish.

Project Delivery

We installed vertically orientated 150mm Euroclad Firemaster Wall Extra panels  to form the divisional firewalls as required, utilising the existing steelwork structure of the build. We also provided 120-minute fire protection to this steelwork in order to offer a turnkey LPS-accredited fire compartmentalisation solution.

Despite the logistical challenges of working in Scotland, our project team maintained close communication with Jewson throughout which meant that all deliveries were made with no delays to the construction programme.

The process was very smooth, there’s nothing you could do to improve your service. 10/10!”
