1-Hour Sub-Dividing Firewalls for Six Industrial Units

Bailey Construction

Background

Stancold’s specialist knowledge of passive fire protection and a competitive, value-driven proposal secured the tender with Bailey Construction for a new industrial park complex in Hemel Hempstead.

Process

As our first project together, Stancold’s experienced team worked closely with Bailey Construction from day one, conducting on-site surveys and design meetings to fully understand the project’s requirements. This collaborative approach allowed us to develop a value-engineered solution tailored specifically to the complex’s six new industrial units.

The main project challenges were:

  • Designing and delivering compliant 1-hour fire-rated sub-dividing partitions across six individual units simultaneously
  • Balancing stringent building safety regulations with the project’s key budgetary requirements

Project Delivery

Drawing on our expert knowledge in passive fire protection, we specified Euroclad Firemaster panels as a cost-effective solution to meet the fire rating requirements.

Stancold constructed sub-dividing walls across all six industrial units using vertically installed 125mm panels, each achieving the required 1-hour fire rating. Specialist fire-stopping was applied to the head and sides of every partition, ensuring complete fire integrity throughout the complex.

Our technical expertise was key to meeting both the regulatory and budgetary demands of the project, delivering a solution that satisfied all stakeholders. The result was a strong working partnership and the first of many projects with Bailey Construction.

We formed a great partnership with the contractor on this project
