Fire-Rated IT Services Enclosure

Specialist Engineering Contractor

Background

Through our continued work with a specialist engineering contractor for data centre and technical services management, Stancold’s Industrial Partitions team were invited to undertake fire-rated enclosure works for an end user in Brighton.

Process

As part of a wider project on site, our client required a fire-rated enclosure for the secure housing of on-site IT services and server equipment.

Specified as a 1-hour fire-rated room and located on the upper level of a mezzanine floor, our expert team needed to ensure that both requirements were met as part of our proposal.

The team also worked closely with our client to value-engineer the project to meet their outlined budget.

Project Delivery

Once the contract was confirmed, Stancold completed a site visit to firm up design and access details.

Stancold’s on-site team successfully handed over the room build in line with our client’s construction programme, allowing for the integration of M&E services by others.

The team presented the contractor with an LPCB certification of compliance to confirm the fire resistance of the build.
