Food Manufacturing Training Centre, Peterborough

Peterborough Regional College

Background

Stancold successfully won a competitive tender to construct the Food Centre of Excellence and Training Facility for Peterborough Regional College. This state-of-the-art centre will provide students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of skills, including product development and food production.

We’re proud to contribute to the next generation of UK food and drink producers, supporting their development and helping shape the future of the industry.

Process

Stancold’s Food Projects team worked with the end user to determine the facility’s layout to best suit the purpose of the building.

Our plans had to be coordinated meticulously to not cause any safety concerns or issues as production was taking place on a busy college campus. Luckily, the Stancold team has extensive experience in creating phased production schedules and working in live environments.

Project Delivery

The project incorporated multi-coloured external panels, delivering both fire-rated protection and a resilient weatherproof finish, while maintaining consistency with the college’s branding.

Internally, several whitewall-panelled food-safe rooms were installed for the students to train in. This included changing rooms and corridors. The facility is now up and running so that the college’s students can obtain authentic food production experience!

We appreciate the knowledge and experience that both the Lindum Group and Stancold brought to the project to enable us to achieve our goals.
