Providing turnkey solutions for clients is important to us here at Stancold, where we will always work alongside them and their supply partners to produce controlled environments that are relevant to their specific needs and requirements.
Over the course of 2018, Stancold have been working with a leading life science and technology company as they make modifications to their site in Dorset. During this project, the team will be installing a number of chilled environments – one ATEX rated chiller in the current building and three further chilled storage facilities in a new building on site.
The ATEX compliant facility will ensure that all components used in its construction, such as electrical fittings and doors, are unreactive with any chemicals due to be used or stored within the environment itself. This means that any potential explosion is contained within this space.
Stancold’s Business Development Manager, Sam Taylor, and project management team visited site to meet with the client and understand the full scope of the works, offering advice on the ATEX-rated components where required.
Stancold are taking care of every aspect of the project, which encompasses the supply and installation of the full turnkey solution, and includes refrigeration, panelling, doors and accompanying steelwork. Eurobond Firemaster Mineral Fibre panels of 100mm thickness will be installed in the construction of each chiller alongside fire-rated chiller doors and fire shutters. Throughout the project, Stancold will be partnering with the client’s on-site electricians and facilities management team to ensure a successful and timely completion.
This project will be completed in two phases, the ATEX-rated chiller is due to be installed in the current building at the end of the year, while the three additional cold storage units will be housed in a new building currently undergoing construction, and will be installed during the second phase of works in Spring 2019.
