FR60 Corridor for Food Manufacturing Facility

Fuselek

Background

Stancold were approached by Fuselek, an interior fit-out contractor, to complete the design and build of a fire-rated corridor as part of larger works for a food manufacturing facility based in Bristol.

Process

The corridor was designed to provide access to three newly formed laboratories, requiring a 60-minute fire rating. A mezzanine floor was planned to be constructed above once our works were complete, making sequencing and coordination critical to the project’s success.

Main project challenges included:

  • Designing a fire-rated corridor that would support a mezzanine floor construction above
  • Completing installation within a one-week window to enable the next phase of works
  • Ensuring the specification, design and build elements achieve FR60 compliance

Project Delivery

With the project on our doorstep, a site visit confirmed access points and validated the feasibility of the proposed installation method. Our expertise in composite systems led us to utilising Euroclad Firemaster composite panelling 150mm thickness to construct the fire-rated walls and ceiling, helping us achieve the FR60 requirement.

Our LPS-approved installers completed the full contract in just 1 week, enabling the next phase of works to continue seamlessly.

Stancold's fire-rated expertise has been demonstrated once again
