Stancold’s dedicated industrial partitioning team have successfully handed over another fire-rated contract in the South East, where they have completed a complex build at a commercial customs ferry port.
Working with a commercial building contractor on a reconfiguration of the building, Stancold assumed responsibility for a dividing firewall and the internal fire-rated lining of the exterior walls.
Our industrial partitions expert, Shaun Jones, was involved right from the earliest stages of the project where he was able to take the lead in terms of design input of the composite panel system. Working to the existing steelwork of the building, he proposed a horizontal installation method to save costs and, ultimately, time within this fast-track programme.
Collaborating with our UK-based supply chain was key in order to achieve a quick turnaround on this build and we successfully sourced over 1100m² of Mineral Fibre panelling, in 100mm thickness, to make a start on site in line with the contractor’s schedule of works.
The specification required a 60-minute fire-rating throughout and our LPS approved installation team worked to an intricate double-layer fireboarding design where access to only one side of the panels was available around the perimeter of the warehouse.
Stancold’s Shaun Jones commented: “Our versatile approach to fire-rated specifications really paid off as part of this contract and it was another impressive build for the team.”
