Stancold were appointed to extend a mill with 4-hour fire rated walls doubling their existing capacity.
Firewalls in mills are very important due to the fact that flour is highly explosive and is a constant risk factor in these areas.
The project requires a total of 1545m² of food-safe and fire-rated Mineral Fibre cored and PIR cored panels with various thicknesses and complete fire stopping.
Access to the existing walls is tricky due to process equipment blocking the ways, but we’ll be working in phases in coordination with other contractors as the new extension progresses.
The client are a well-known family-owned mill producing and distributing a wide range of high-quality gluten-free flour products across the country.
